Game Design Department Lead at SYBO Games

I work closely with Liam on the PvZ 2 team, and it's a joy to do so. Liam is passionate about product, brimming with ideas, willing to go the extra mile to execute something unique and beautiful, and his artwork is fantastic. He's been an integral part of the entire team, often serving as the glue that binds us together— organizing team lunches, Pokemon Go walks, and much more. I couldn't be happier to work with him.

Artist

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Liam on several internal Popcap projects. Liam stepped in as a mentor for me; providing me with invaluable feedback, resources, and instruction on character design and flash animation. My time working with him was extremely strengthening and also fun! Working with him was an absolute pleasure, and his humor and genuineness shine through in his work.

September 21, 2015, Genevieve worked indirectly for Liam at PopCap Games.

Mark Barrett

Lead Artist at WG Cells

I worked with Liam for a little over a year on Plants Vs. Zombies 2. My first impressions were- He's talented as an illustrator and an animator, creative, funny, big-hearted, well spoken, and demonstrates solid game design instincts. He ALWAYS gives you more than what you ask for. Plus, this guy gives and takes constructive feedback as well or better than anyone else I've ever met. He has an insatiable desire to be better, funnier, more clever, more productive. One example of Liam going above and beyond was when he took all of the effects animations in the game and categorized them into use-able libraries that I reference to this day. He's grown in every way, now he is the Art Director of the project and instrumental to keeping a healthy, productive, and enjoyable art pipeline on that project. I would recommend Liam with both thumbs and a big smile because he has been (and continues to be) just about one of the best people you could ever work with.

Art Director at DropForge Games

Quite simply, Liam is the real deal. Most animators can give you either quality or speed, Liam gives you both…regularly. Great style and great instincts.

Jason Emery

Senior Software Engineer I at PopCap Games

Liam has grown even in the short time I've known him at PopCap. While a prolific animator, he's kept that up while absorbing a new, broader focus managing art tasks for our team.

No doubt it's in part of his environment, but he's been steadfastly cheerful and easy to work with, even when confronted with necessary compromises or revisions. I have no doubt his drive for excellence will be a benefit to future teams when he's ready to move on.

Ray V. Ocampo

UI Designer Blizzard Entertainment (Heroes of the Storm)

Liam is one of the most earnest and insightful Art Directors that I've had the pleasure to work with.
Not only is he a brilliant animator, but his contributions to the team as a strong leader is second to none. His proficiency and genuine passion for art and animation is greatly displayed in the work he accomplishes, and sets the standard for what an artist should and could be.
What really sets Liam apart from others is the way he interacts with the people around him. He doesn't delegate; he entrusts. And in doing this, and leading by example, he builds adamant confidence throughout the entire team and project.
Whether it's his abilities in leadership or art and animation; I have only observed exceptional work from Liam.

If you’ve played a Z2Live game, you can pretty much guarantee you’ve seen Liam’s work. From the always entertaining Trade Nations animations to the incredible work he has done for Battle Nations, Liam is a top notch animator.

Liam is one of the most hardworking, kindest, and knowledgable individuals I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. His passion and creativity shines through with his ability to take requirements and propel them above and beyond expectations [see “campfire” in Trade Nations]. I’d recommend Liam without hesitation or caveat.

10/10 would work with again.

UX Designer at Amazon

Liam embodies all of the qualities present in only the finest creative employees. He is patient, dedicated, passionate, focused, dutiful, and extraordinarily talented.

In my time working with Liam at Z2, there were many situations where he was tasked with taking the art direction reins on a project. He always handled these situations with grace and aplomb and never failed to see the project through to the end.

Liam is a no-brainier for any studio looking for top tier animation talent. He has my full endorsement and I sincerely hope that I one day have the opportunity to work with him again.

Keith Fukumoto

Cartoon Animator at Elliott Animation

During my time as an animation supervisor at Fatkat Animation, Liam was an off site animator who was very trust worthy and reliable with producing quality work and hitting deadlines. Working from home takes much self discipline to stay on track and Liam had no problem with this. I recommend him.

Beau Ross

Director of Marketing at Medio

As an animator, Liam helped define and raise the bar for all of Z2Live’s moving pixels. He played a critical role in the creation and operation of the art and content pipeline that fed into some of the App Store’s top games and brought smiles to the faces of millions of players worldwide.

More personally, Liam is a stand-up guy who brings passion and dedication to his work. I recommend him without reservation.

Hanna Bliss

Animation Supervisor at Soup2Nuts

Liam is a great freelancer. He always turned in his work on time (trust me, that is a big deal!) and all his animation had the Liam flavor to it! I remember one time asking him to just “go with it, have fun” with one scene that needed a little help. I got it back and the scene was 100% funnier. I can always rely on Liam to do a great job consistently! Also, he was very good at taking notes, my entire working relationship with him is positive.
